We came across these beautiful Chakana pendants in Cusco, where we purchased them directly from an elderly couple. Their simplicity and symbolic form immediately caught our attention and we brought a small selection home to share through Q’INTI.

The Chakana, also known as the Andean stepped cross, is an ancient symbol found throughout the Andes. It is often understood as a bridge between different realms of existence - the world above, the earthly world and the inner or ancestral world - and as a reminder of the connection between all parts of life.

Each pendant has its own subtle variations in shape, texture and finish, making every necklace slightly unique. Paired with a delicate stainless steel chain, it carries a small piece of Andean symbolism and history.

Material: Stainless steel chain with a pendant made from an unidentified metal alloy

Origin: Pendants sourced directly from an elderly couple in Cusco, Peru

Please note: Shape, tone, texture and finish may vary slightly from piece to piece.
